It’s hard to believe this is one of the best movies ever made, considering its flaws. The narrative itself isn't particularly original—it treads familiar ground—and while the performers are talented, many have unusual expressions. The action sequences are skillfully executed. However, the way the story unfolds and the characters move through it is truly disappointing. The film suffers from strange color choices, pointless close-ups, shots of empty space, a dull musical score, a lack of flow, and an excessive runtime of nearly two and a half hours. I can see why those involved might have tried to create a sense of realism by using a documentary approach, but it doesn't work. It’s possible they were under the influence of something themselves, or perhaps their intention was to make viewers feel that way. 9 June 2017 I am moving my reviews from another platform that has unfortunately become unusable.
