Pixar has delivered a remarkable film debut with *Toy Story*. It’s an absolute pleasure to watch, from beginning to end. The computer-generated animation is superb. The toys themselves appear wonderful, and so does their environment—I really like how it feels. The musical score is very well done; Randy Newman contributes effectively, and "You've Got a Friend in Me" is particularly memorable. Tom Hanks heads up an impressive group of performers. Hanks’ portrayal of Woody is outstanding, and he’s the strongest element of the movie. Tim Allen also shines as Buzz Lightyear. Don Rickles (Mr. Potato Head), Wallace Shawn (Rex), and John Ratzenberger (Hamm) add to the enjoyment as well. The rest of the film is equally impressive: the jokes, the rhythm, the story—I found everything enjoyable. There might be minor issues with some aspects, like Buzz’s seeming lack of understanding, but it doesn't detract from the overall experience. You should definitely see this!
