The concept behind Toxic Shark showed promise, though the film didn't make good use of it. It’s essentially a zombie-themed shark movie—I liked the originality, but not how it was presented. The filmmakers seemed aware that they had made something low quality, yet they didn’t manage to have much enjoyment with the material. The shark possessed an acid spray mutation which it would use on people before consuming them, so we never got to see what that ability could really accomplish. A small group of zombies added a bit of excitement to the shark movie, but ultimately, nothing substantial resulted from that addition. Toxic Shark attempted something new, but weak writing prevented those ideas from being enjoyable.
