I’m struggling to find words to describe this movie. There’s one thing that stands out without a doubt: the film’s style strongly reflects the avant-garde movement of the sixties and seventies. That aspect alone establishes this work as an important historical achievement in cinema. Like most avant-garde works, the film's satirical commentary on the upper class is both sharp and funny. It employs jarringly inappropriate music to achieve a specific effect, and it’s remarkably effective. Aside from its theme of class conflict, I can’t think of much else that resonates today. Nevertheless, as a historical document, it holds considerable worth.
