This is a really strong follow-up film, possibly surpassing the original "Top Gun." I found myself thoroughly enjoying this picture. It presents a direct and uncomplicated narrative that’s still engaging, alongside some truly excellent action sequences. What's impressive is how much of it was achieved through practical effects and traditional filmmaking techniques, avoiding the excessive computer-generated imagery that plagues so many big-budget action films these days. It also serves as a great example of what a sequel should be—one that could even be considered better than its predecessor. If you’re willing to overlook the fairly subtle but noticeable promotion of America's role in global affairs (something present in the initial "Top Gun" too), this movie offers an entertaining experience, particularly if you appreciate action films with a more traditional feel. Thanks, Tom Cruise, for delivering something like this in the 2020s! A very good sequel, maybe even better than the first "Top Gun".
