This is a genuinely strong action-thriller, boasting impressive stunts and managing to evoke emotion without it seeming contrived. Tom Cruise delivers another excellent performance, and Miles Teller was perfectly acceptable, although I felt he could have benefited from more screen time; however, his interactions with Cruise were enjoyable. Jennifer Connelly has aged gracefully, and the film treated Val Kilmer’s Iceman character respectfully. It's a truly good, diverting throwback to classic big-budget films. **4.25/5**
