I saw the news about Chuck Norris passing away—apparently, Death was too intimidated to do it back in ’83. It’s funny, I actually have an uncle from Oklahoma who looks exactly like him. He seemed alright down there, but when he came to Chicago O'Hare, he just signed autographs because it was simpler that way. You should probably get yours looked at. I recently read a review calling this film out for its diversity and rejection of prejudice, which left me pretty bewildered since those themes are completely absent from the movie. Seriously, there’s no connection whatsoever. It's essentially a terrible imitation of Turner and Hooch—and that original was already quite bad. Norris fights the villain, the dog gets the praise... scene, repeat, end. There isn’t any hidden meaning here. The film consists mainly of action scenes and some truly awful jokes that not even my younger sister found amusing; she must have been about ten when we rented this thing. Feel free to watch it if you like, but be aware that I'm giving you a heads-up... and if anyone managed to get a Chuck Norris autograph in Chicago during the late eighties or early nineties, I sincerely apologize.
