It took a little while for my feelings about this film to settle in, and ultimately I’ve decided it was just average. It seemed like a rehash of countless subpar horror films from the last couple decades. I will say that Tobe did a good job showing some vulnerability in the characters who end up as victims. Usually, in those kinds of movies, they're portrayed as careless or irresponsible young people you don’t really connect with (and might even feel a little satisfaction seeing meet their fate). The antagonist is part insane person, part something beyond explanation, and his background, abilities, and motivations are never fully clarified. There were some pretty brutal deaths and the actors did an okay job with their roles, but there were too many gaps in the story for me to ignore. I’d suggest renting it rather than purchasing it.
