Perhaps my feelings about this movie stem from seeing it in theaters twice during a time when I was seventeen, and then having to bring my mother along as well. It’s also possible that my dislike comes from the fact that Kate, the central character, is unlikeable—very self-absorbed and responsible for some truly unpleasant actions, yet we're expected to support her journey. Another possibility is that I simply grew weary of all the attention it received upon its release. Or maybe it’s because there was space in the narrative for Leo, but he had to meet his end to create a sense of romance. Regardless of the cause, I don't particularly care for this film.
