It’s really ironic that I opted out of paying more for an ad-free Amazon Prime subscription right when this film showed up. They didn't make it themselves, but its presence certainly highlights a serious deficiency in their quality control standards. The fact that the director or production staff even permitted something like this to be released is also pretty damning for the studio. It’s a low-budget CGI disaster that seems unsure whether it wants to emulate "Titanic" or "The Poseidon Adventure," as an enormous ice sheet breaks away and puts the ship in danger. Fortunately, Bruce Davison appears, offering his daughter Marie Westbrook some thoughtful guidance to steer clear of the lower parts of the vessel as it travels—at roughly 50 knots for about ten seconds—toward warmer regions. Adding to the already questionable cast, Shane van Dyke takes on the role of captain, and you’ll quickly feel that sinking sensation. It must have been a genuine nuisance if you worked at one of the ship's stores, because passengers rapidly become preoccupied with other concerns, and... well, it’s not hard to imagine how things proceed from there as the film hysterically and quite literally deteriorates. Ninety minutes lost forever, and goodbye Amazon Prime.
