The comedy duo Stan and Ollie find themselves proprietors of a hardware store and, in an effort to be neighborly, Ollie suggests they go meet the grocer next door. However, there’s history between them (the grocer is Charlie Hall), and their attempt at introductions doesn't go well; they are quickly dismissed. It seemed like things might settle down after that, but a series of unfortunate events involving lightbulbs, a street elevator, and a ladder leads Charlie to believe Ollie is scheming with his wife (Mae Busch). Soon enough, the two shops become scenes for acts of sabotage instead of friendly shopping trips. This isn’t one of their more lively stories; while it's pleasant and inoffensive, it also feels somewhat ordinary because the gags they play on each other are too neatly arranged and don't generate much laughter. I thought the silliest part was a separate storyline that seemed to set up the ending but didn't really connect with what had happened before. It’s fine to watch, but definitely not among my favorites.
