This movie was an absolute time sink. It doesn’t merely descend into the territory of low-budget exploitation flicks with clumsy and poorly executed gore; the narrative itself is just ridiculous. Those who object to depictions that disrespect Christian imagery should avoid this film entirely. In fact, that's likely the sole reason anyone would choose to watch it—knowing exactly what kind of experience they’re in for if they have a particular aversion to religious symbolism. Even then, it might not be enough to excuse the awful plot and the uninspired, low-quality filmmaking. I can hardly imagine there’s much to reveal about the "plot," but here's a summary: a pair of hikers venture into the wilderness, far from any signs of society, where they are abducted, subjected to torture, and so on by religious extremists. The film’s most significant flaw is in its depiction of the antagonists. They’re presented as devout followers of the Bible, but simultaneously appear comfortable disregarding nearly every commandment (lying, theft, murder, lust, etc.). If you're seeking a movie within this genre, it would be better to watch something like *Texas Chainsaw Massacre* or another film of comparable quality, because this one borrows heavily from those movies. My advice: steer clear.
