I found this to be a really good film, though potentially challenging for those familiar with the actual events—as was my case; I knew exactly what was coming and how things would resolve. The script felt well-crafted, and the performances were generally excellent. I'd suggest it to viewers of any age who aren’t already acquainted with this story. Even with Danielle Deadwiler’s raw portrayal and the straightforward presentation of the tragic events, I didn’t connect emotionally as much as I thought I would. It’s hard to pinpoint why. Maybe there were some subtle factors at play—perhaps a lack of chemistry between the lead actors. Honestly, I'm not entirely sure myself. It remains an impressive film, but it won’t linger with me in the way that a historical account like this ought to, nor will it make me eager for a repeat viewing. Still, I do think you should see it at least once.
