The direction of _Thumper_ surprised me given what the promotional material suggested, though that wasn't necessarily negative. What did detract from it was an abundance of familiar plot devices and predictable elements. The performances were good, however, and nothing about _Thumper_ was so off-putting as to be truly bothersome. Final rating:★★½ - It contained many things I found appealing, but ultimately didn’t quite succeed in its entirety.
