The initial portion of "Three Fugitives," lasting around twenty minutes, had the potential to cause issues due to its exceptional quality, but thankfully, the movie builds into something genuinely rewarding. There are several well-done action scenes and moments of comedy that land really well – particularly during the bank robbery early on. The film successfully maintains a very enjoyable equilibrium between being lighthearted and appropriate for families, thanks in large part to Sarah Rowland Doroff’s undeniably charming performance; she's an incredibly captivating child who manages to connect with even Nick Nolte's tough character and earn his fondness. At the same time, it caters to older viewers by including profanity and violent content. This dual nature risked undermining the entire project, but instead, it proves to be a major asset.
