I wasn’t entirely satisfied with *¡Three Amigos!*. Going into this 1986 movie, I thought I would like it, mainly because of Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, and Martin Short. I appreciate those actors, though I haven’t seen much of Chase's work; Short and especially Martin are performers whose talents I enjoy. However, the film just didn't come together for me. It wasn't really funny, in my opinion; some jokes felt overly broad—almost uncomfortable to watch. There were a few moments that got a small laugh out of me, with the scene involving the invisible swordsman being the best one. Regarding the central trio, I thought Martin Short had the strongest performance. Chase seemed somewhat awkward at times. The rest of the cast members, Alfonso Arau and Patrice Martinez, did an acceptable job. Joe Mantegna is in it too; as soon as he started talking, I recognized that familiar voice from Fat Tony on *'The Simpsons'*. I didn’t even recognize Tony Plana as Jefe—even looking at pictures afterward, I still can’t be sure it’s the same person.
