Right from the start, Thor Ragnarok arrives with a fresh sense of excitement, distinctive visuals, Jeff Goldblum’s presence, striking color palettes and camera work, an impressive soundtrack reminiscent of the 1980s, and humor that genuinely lands. Surprisingly, Thor Ragnarok manages to be both the bleakest installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe because it portrays the devastation of a planet, and also the most enjoyable. Thor Ragnarok feels very much like a Taika Waititi production, incorporating established elements from Marvel alongside familiar characters. It features unexpected developments, clever jokes, and welcome returns (and introductions) to some of the MCU’s strongest personalities that I'm eager to see more of. And did I mention Jeff Goldblum is in this movie?
