_Thor: Love and Thunder_ manages to recover from a shaky beginning, offering an entertaining and poignant Thor story with considerable emotional depth. It shouldn’t have been unexpected that the film had flaws, and this was most noticeable in its opening moments. The initial act felt disjointed and hurried; I experienced a rapid succession of plot developments and shifts between locations, making it difficult to connect with what was happening. While I appreciated the scenes featuring Gorr and Jane during this portion, they seemed somewhat underdeveloped and rushed. The humor felt heavy-handed at times, with some jokes falling flat, but thankfully it didn’t significantly detract from the overall experience. Once the film transitioned into the second act and centered on Jane, things improved considerably. This is where I could really see Taika Waititi recapturing the balance he achieved in _Ragnarök_, with certain moments matching the high points of that movie. The final action sequences and visuals were truly impressive, leading some to consider them among the best within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As the credits began to roll, I felt quite pleased with how the story wrapped up and am eager for more Thor adventures down the line. The performances across the board were excellent; I thought the dynamic between Jane and Thor was a significant improvement over previous installments. They shared genuine chemistry on screen, and their past affection seemed to rekindle with each scene. There were some truly meaningful conversations exploring their relationship that were handled exceptionally well. Christian Bale was chilling as Gorr, his presence radiating menace and instability, punctuated by unsettling laughter while delivering his villainous pronouncements. It brought back memories of Heath Ledger’s Joker. I simply wished there had been more screen time for his character, but the portions we did see showcased some of the best villainy in the MCU. The film's soundtrack integrated seamlessly with the visuals. The Guns N' Roses guitar cue signaled that something important was about to happen, and it elicited a smile each time I heard it. Although the beginning faltered, I can acknowledge that the strong ending helped even things out, resulting in an enjoyable movie overall. Verdict: _Good_ Score: _7/10_
