It functions adequately, though. While I wouldn't call it a particularly strong film, it does manage to create suspense, confines itself primarily to one setting without seeming low-budget, incorporates frightening elements, and allows for character development. The actors were well-chosen, and the directing is competent. It’s far from exceptional, but there are zombies—and they're genuinely unsettling—the main characters behave in a believable manner, and despite its potential to be overlooked, it isn't truly unpleasant.
