It’s among the stronger political films available, successfully creating tension until you feel genuinely frightened about the possibility of global annihilation—even though that moment has already passed. The decision to transition from Jack and Bobby to Ken O'Donnel, a modest appointment secretary, stands out as an exceptionally clever idea in historical dramas. From beginning to end, it’s one of the greatest political thrillers ever made.
