I’d watched this film previously, but felt like checking it out again on a whim. It's a truly excellent crime thriller, and James Caan is absolutely ideal in his role, complemented by Michael Mann’s superb direction and screenplay. While it doesn’t quite reach the heights of something like *Heat*, it comes remarkably close. I would place it among the very best heist movies I have encountered. **4.5/5**
