The potential for something truly special was evident in this movie. Unfortunately, the writer, director, and producer chose to deliver a forced plot and an unbelievable resolution that felt disrespectful to Gay men. The film’s depiction of a gay couple couldn't simply allow them to be together after familial conflict; instead, one character abruptly declared himself bisexual and in love with a woman, alongside his boyfriend, within mere moments. It appeared the filmmakers believed introducing bisexuality—a relationship with a female character—would somehow make the story more acceptable to viewers. The film repeatedly emphasized themes of courage and acceptance, but this sudden shift felt like a direct contradiction of those messages. Nowadays, claiming bisexuality can be seen as a diluted way of identifying as gay, a fallback for those lacking the bravery to embrace their true identity. Despite featuring attractive and skilled actors and actresses doing their best to navigate the weak narrative, the film ultimately disappoints. I suggest seeing it, but brace yourself for the sudden, jarring plot twist near the end; you might experience emotional shock.
