This modern slasher film surpasses what one might expect. While inevitably derivative—as the genre demands—it possesses more intelligence than initially apparent, although it does become somewhat simplistic in its final moments. The performances are solid, and there's a discernible storyline for the central characters, despite the killer’s identity being predictable and lacking imagination. I was genuinely drawn into the movie, rather than having it on as background noise while doing something else. It remains simply a slasher film, but if you enjoy horror, it’s worth seeing; Netflix doesn't typically produce quality horror movies, so this could signal a positive shift.
