It's hard not to feel a bit bad for “Tom” this time around, as he finds himself repeatedly outsmarted by “Jerry” in what amounts to a wartime comedy. The mouse has taken up residence in his cellar, effectively putting “Tom” under siege with the cat’s considerable collection of dynamite. Yet, regardless of how much weaponry "Tom" amasses against him, “Jerry” consistently manages to trigger explosions right on top of him – whether it's near his tail, between his ears, or even launching the unfortunate feline into outer space. The film is a constant barrage of gags as the two characters engage in a battle of wits using flour, what are called "hen grenades," and even a banana. Throughout everything, upbeat music serves to reinforce the patriotic theme and keeps things moving quickly.
