The Japanese organization “FAFC” becomes fascinated by stories about unusual aerial phenomena close to Mars and dispatches a spacecraft to look into the matter. The multinational crew really does come across something one person calls a "giant fried egg" before touching down on the planet, where they find what appears to be a breakfast pastry. Initial examinations indicate it’s inactive, leading them to take it back to Earth for more detailed study—a decision that turns out to be their first error. Upon returning home and entering a laboratory setting, the object begins to develop – resulting in a monster with an appetite for energy. It doesn't discriminate about how it gets this sustenance, or what obstacles stand in its path, quickly causing destruction across what are clearly flimsy cityscapes and industrial areas while increasing in size as it consumes power. Will the scientists be able to devise a way to halt it before it reaches a large nuclear power station and devours the country? The creature’s design has echoes of Egyptian mythology – featuring aspects of a snail, then a chicken, then a lizard—along with prominent eyes and the ability to breathe fire! While the performances and script are uninspired and easily overlooked, this film is primarily about the special effects: visible wires on aircraft and missiles, numerous small explosions, and a creature reminiscent of "Dr. Who." It's not a quality production; it drags on for too long, and you’ll likely forget having seen it. However, if you appreciate low-budget science fiction horror, this might appeal to you.
