"Wallace" and his canine companion "Gromit" are experiencing some financial difficulties, so they decide to rent out a room. Their new tenant is a penguin who quickly becomes comfortable, enjoying a drink with "Wallace," but immediately provokes suspicion from "Gromit." The penguin’s arrival causes such discomfort that "Gromit's" friend feels compelled to leave. This was precisely the penguin’s plan, and he soon repurposes some old, automated trousers to capture "Wallace" for what turns out to be a risky robbery. Fortunately, "Gromit" hadn't gone far and responds to his friend's cries for help, setting off to stop the notorious "Feathers McGraw." The vocal performances, particularly from Peter Sallis, along with the meticulous detail in the stop-motion animation – especially the dog’s expressions – are a real strength. These elements combine to form an uncomplicated but swiftly moving and entertaining narrative that evokes feelings, elicits laughter, and highlights the questionable aesthetic choice of polystyrene ceiling tiles.
