"The Wrecking Crew" certainly lives up to its title. I found this action movie pretty much ruined any possibility of me liking it from the start. I need to admit that I’m really bothered by the unnecessary violence constantly appearing in Hollywood films. The film's breezy, humorous feel doesn't match the often brutal depictions of violence. For instance, having someone’s front teeth smashed against a table during the initial scenes isn’t amusing; it’s not acceptable, and it’s not enjoyable, regardless of who is involved. Considering how violent US society has become, I suppose I shouldn’t be shocked, but that's also why I don't watch much American movies these days. Aside from that, the action sequences are predictable, and the familiar story about male friends feels like a worn-out trope. Basically, Hollywood needs to ease up; excessive violence isn't acceptable. If you’re aiming for a lighthearted action film, then just make it so.
