This unusual film, *’The Witches’*, manages to be entertaining. I don't typically care for anthology movies, but I thought the strangeness of this one made it worthwhile. It surprisingly comes together well. There are five stories presented, and while some are stronger than others, each has something to offer. The soundtrack is also quite good. "The Witch Burned Alive," which begins the film, really stood out; "Civic Spirit" provided a brief chuckle, "The Earth Seen from the Moon" felt slow-moving and was among the less impressive segments, “The Sicilian Belle” didn’t leave much of an impression, and the final story, "An Evening Like the Others," is quite peculiar but ultimately satisfying because of its oddity and humor. That last segment's strangeness is amplified by Clint Eastwood’s appearance—which becomes even more unusual since he doesn't provide his character's voice due to a language issue; Giuseppe Rinaldi handles the Italian dialogue, if you’re interested. It's bizarre, but it still works somehow. However, Silvana Mangano truly shines in this 1967 film, as she appears in all five stories. She is superb throughout, and I am now curious to explore more of her films.
