However, I've enjoyed many horror movies that prioritized storytelling over visual effects, as this one does. I appreciate strong narration more than films attempting to frighten me with special effects and sound design. The film features a small cast, is set in a stunning isolated location, and boasts exceptional dialogue appropriate for the unsettling atmosphere. The performances from everyone involved were superb. It was made on a budget of just one million dollars and filmed within a single month. Production values are secondary when the writing and direction are outstanding, particularly considering this was someone’s debut project. The narrative is straightforward but exceptionally well-developed, with suspense being its strongest point. Some viewers might desire more detailed explanations, but I'm satisfied with what's presented, as delving deeper could diminish its distinctive quality. This film isn’t only for horror enthusiasts; anyone who can tolerate a deliberate pace should give it a try. As always, I won’t be requesting a sequel—it’s better enjoyed as a singular, remarkable piece than as the start of a series of inferior follow-ups. 8/10
