This film really didn’t have much going for it. I honestly can’t think of anything positive to say about it. To be completely honest, it's not offensively bad either—which is why the rating isn’t lower than it is. It’s just so uninspired and bland that it has trouble being remotely amusing; I even wonder if kids would find it appealing. The obvious issue here is how much this resembles DreamWorks’ *Madagascar*, which came out about a year earlier. When put side-by-side, *The Wild* falls short in every respect—and I'm not even particularly fond of the 2005 movie itself. Visually, it’s underwhelming; it isn't just unexciting but also feels awkward at times. The voice actors aren't much better either; no one stands out as truly good, and they are all forgettable. If I had to choose someone who made a slight impression, it would be Eddie Izzard as the koala. Kiefer Sutherland (Samson) and William Shatner (Kazar) were supposed to make an impact, but they don’t. The plot is superficial, predictable, and follows a standard formula in a dull way. I anticipated something better from Disney; it's easily their weakest animated film that isn’t a sequel or spin-off up until now. Even the brief length couldn't redeem it. It's disappointing.
