"Roz" exists to assist, ready to handle any task—even when stranded on an island filled with creatures eager to devour one another. The arrival of a "monster" briefly unites them in hostility; otherwise, they reject its attempts at friendship while trying to eat it. After a year spent deciphering their languages, a disastrous incident involving a nest unfolds, followed by a pursuit from a hungry fox ("Fink"), leading to the formation of an unusual family dedicated to raising a very shy gosling called "Brightbill." The story is now ready for some amusing escapades as “Roz” must instruct her new companion on how to eat, swim, and eventually fly away to escape the coming winter. Each of these lessons presents its own dangers, but perhaps this little group can successfully launch project "Brightbill"? Of course, there’s no real danger here, and at times it feels like a mix of "Wall:E" (2008) with elements inspired by Hans Christian Anderson. That isn't necessarily a flaw, as the android’s personality is appealing and develops pleasantly as its programming shifts toward something resembling a soul rather than just intelligence. It addresses more profound themes—loneliness, rejection, isolation, and self-esteem issues—but always in a way that makes a point before offering hope for solutions to even the most complex problems. The animation style is charmingly realistic, and it’s genuinely funny, with some of the fox's observations working effectively within a heartwarming story about compassion, cooperation, and even a bit of understanding, without becoming overly sentimental or relying on excessive dialogue. It looks impressive when viewed in a large theater and deserves to be seen...!
