It didn’t really grab my attention, I doubt I’ll revisit it, and I can’t genuinely suggest it to others. My main issue stems from the fact that I couldn’t connect with Matthew McConaughey or Bridgette Wilson-Sampras, even though their performances were good; it felt like a beautifully crafted dessert with an unappealing taste. While I enjoy Jennifer Lopez as an actress, the film would have been better if Bree Turner had the part instead, and honestly, Judy Greer seems more suited to playing an Italian character than Jennifer Lopez does. I can accept a meet-cute born from danger that leads to chemical confusion due to adrenaline, but this relies on a head injury causing something close to “love at first sight,” combined with the trope of an "unavailable romance." After we’re told she loves weddings and it's somehow significant, much of the film revolves around his reluctance to pursue her because he’s already engaged, while she attempts to be respectful but truthful. The movie seems more focused on issues faced by people who can afford lavish weddings, ultimately meaning there’s more that feels foolish than genuinely humorous. I won't go so far as to call it a terrible film, but it didn’t make much of an impression and simply wasn’t something I enjoyed.
