The narrative, while understated, offers a touching exploration set against the backdrop of Northern Spain’s scenery. Tom, portrayed by Martin Sheen, finds himself accompanied by three unexpected fellow pilgrims as he fulfills his deceased son's ambition to traverse the Camino Way. As they progress, these individuals reveal aspects of their lives and connect through shared experiences. The film held back from delving more profoundly into those individual narratives, a decision that seemed intended to maintain emphasis on Tom’s primary goal. James Nesbitt embodies an irritating Irish writer named Jack, and Tom also expresses frustration with his Dutch and Canadian travel partners, though he initially envisioned a solitary trek. These characters feel like people you'd genuinely encounter along such a path. The musical score is exceptional, but the true highlights are the landscapes and locations captured through striking visuals. It’s an appealing film that won’t equip viewers for undertaking the Camino itself, yet it does provide a glimpse of the scenery and an idealized sense of traveling through Northern Spain. (8/10)
