The story unfolds in a Norwegian fjord community facing potential disaster from a tsunami. The cause? A massive amount of rock perched on the mountainside, poised to plunge into the water and trigger a huge wave. Fortunately, there are several early warning systems in operation, which is beneficial for geologist Kristian (played by Kristoffer Joner) and his family. His wife works at the local hotel, and his kids have already had their bags packed for an upcoming relocation to Stavanger. When the expected event occurs, it becomes a struggle to survive as residents try to reach safety above the rising water. There aren't any sharks lurking this time around, but the situation does bring up questions about the utility of nuclear shelters – perhaps they could be repurposed by simply filling them with water through the ventilation system! The central idea is appealing, however, the way it’s presented feels familiar, filled with conversations and suspenseful moments that don't offer much new. While not a film destined to stick in your memory, it provides adequate entertainment.
