The visual effects are surprisingly impressive, especially considering the film's budget. There was a moment when the characters were trapped in that narrow space as it collapsed that genuinely had me worried for their safety. I would have liked to see more of the wave itself, but you can’t fight the reality of a tsunami – it’s quick action followed by widespread destruction. It ranks among the stronger disaster movies out there; it's direct, features solid performances, and doesn't suffer from noticeably poor CGI.
