There are some intriguing aspects to be found throughout, but even with capable direction from Ishana Night Shyamalan and a good performance by Elle Fanning, the movie doesn’t fully succeed, and I didn’t find much that was genuinely exciting or frightening. The last portion, roughly twenty minutes, also felt underwhelming. Ultimately, it's an ordinary supernatural horror film; without Ishana Night Shyamalan’s involvement, it likely would have gone straight to Netflix. **2.5/5**
