However, that’s key, because so many films attempt to soften harsh realities—like war—with an overly pleasant presentation, while the truth is that war, particularly nuclear conflict, is devastating. There’s nothing wrong with those movies where everything works out for the protagonists and virtue prevails; they aren't going anywhere, and shouldn't.
