The film centers on an inept police sergeant who becomes overwhelmed while looking into a series of family murders committed by someone within those families. To complicate matters further, his own daughter appears to be experiencing some kind of possession. It’s an unusual and gripping narrative that holds your interest throughout, even if the initial portion feels drawn out. The way the film keeps the main character as uncertain as the audience about morality—whether there are supernatural forces at play like demons, ghosts, or witches—builds up the suspense to a truly intense degree. The performances are all very good, and Hwan-hee Kim is particularly impressive in her role as the daughter. It’s quite enjoyable!
