I had high expectations going into this film after hearing so much about it from various sources, and ultimately, I found it to be just alright. There's a genuinely smart plot development that the whole story leads up to, which is definitely a highlight. However, if you were to remove that element, what’s left is fairly unremarkable. The robberies themselves felt more like straightforward action than carefully orchestrated plans. What’s presented as Keyser Söze’s ingenious maneuvering actually comes across as exploiting people who aren't particularly bright. I realize this opinion might not be shared by everyone, but for me, The Usual Suspects barely rises above average.
