I enjoy the Twilight series, though I haven’t read the books so I don’t really know the story well. New Moon wasn't a favorite of mine, which meant I didn’t have high hopes for this film. I just sort of went along with it; I wanted to be able to say that I had seen it. It was a holiday celebrating the President's inauguration, so we chose Podium because larger theaters tend to draw bigger crowds. Many showtimes were already sold out, which is why we ended up getting tickets for the last full showing of the day. We spent the afternoon playing with Toby and then went directly from dropping off Edward to Podium. This movie proved to be a significant improvement over New Moon. There’s more action in this one, and the romantic connection between Jacob and Bella feels more developed. The Cullen family also gets more screen time. The soundtrack is better than what was used in New Moon, with some songs that have a similar feel to those from Twilight. I wasn't fond of the makeup; it seemed uneven, and Bella’s hairstyle was particularly bad. I would give this movie a B-. It was enjoyable, but nothing compares to Twilight.
