It’s enjoyable enough to consider watching again, and I can certainly suggest it. I find it hard to believe Jackie Chan has ever made a truly bad film; very few people possess his particular skillset, and the unique style he brings would still stand out even if others attempted something similar. A large part of his appeal comes from his unassuming personality, and this movie highlights that as he portrays someone who’s lost and needs to depend on a tuxedo for his talents and Jennifer Love Hewitt for almost everything else. Jennifer Love Hewitt is also excellent here; she participates in action sequences, provides some humor, delivers positive messages about women, and seems intelligent. While I wonder if the film might have been more impactful had her character been an experienced operative rather than a socially awkward scientist, I don’t believe it would have retained quite as much charm. The script is adequately constructed, but I wished it had a bit more energy. The villain's plan is intriguing and original, yet I feel like they could have explored it further. Ultimately, it was good, though there are likely superior action films, comedies, and spy movies available.
