Going into “The Town That Dreaded Sundown,” I was really looking forward to an exciting horror film that would be suspenseful. Unfortunately, the movie didn't quite meet those expectations; the only part that grabbed my attention was the ending’s surprise. The rest of it seemed like a slog, illogical, and just not very engaging. It quickly became apparent while watching that the story wasn't going anywhere productive, and the slow decrease in quality made me lose interest until that final reveal about who committed the crimes. Even though there were hints of scary moments sprinkled throughout, they didn’t really amount to anything substantial, so I was left feeling like something was missing. On top of that, the movie seemed to depend too much on sexual content, which felt awkward and didn't fit in. Ultimately, “The Town That Dreaded Sundown” didn’t manage to be the gripping horror experience it could have been, and instead proved to be a disappointing and frustrating film.
