I really enjoyed this film! *The Thirty Nine Steps* proved to be quite entertaining. Robert Powell delivers an excellent performance, and John Mills is also very good; honestly, the entire cast does a solid job. The rhythm of the story flows well, and the musical score is fantastic. There are some memorable scenes as well, particularly those set on the train and at Big Ben. I appreciated the sense of adventure it conveyed. I understand this is one of several versions based on John Buchan’s novel. This marks my initial exposure to the story in any format, and it seems I picked a good entry point. I should probably explore the other three (!) films eventually, particularly the first one directed by Alfred Hitchcock; I'm ashamed that I haven't seen a movie of his yet.
