It’s difficult to put into words, but the feeling is inescapable: no one leaves, nothing passes through – it’s simply him and me. Honestly, writing about The Terminator now feels almost unnecessary; I suspect anyone with even a passing interest has already seen it. It's true that the special effects look dated by today's standards, though that doesn’t detract from how impressive they were back in 1984. What remains is an incredibly exciting plot full of fast-paced action, memorable characters, and a distinctive futuristic feel. Its position among great science fiction films is secure, and its impact on the genre is undeniable; the actors involved also established themselves as sci-fi legends. There’s not much else to add really – The Terminator is like a live-action comic book, made with skill, carefully timed, and featuring a story that's both clever and completely absorbing. 9/10
