It's an enjoyable film that I’d happily watch again and suggest to others. The movie maintains the necessary gravity for a storyline centered on familial relationships, but incorporates a significant amount of humor; some instances are purely for comedic effect and extend quite far in order to land a punchline. It functions better as a drama than it does as a comedy, though that’s not entirely unexpected given how closely it balances those elements. I don't typically care for Jennifer Aniston’s performances, but here she portrays a character who comes across more like a petulant child than her usual roles. Jason Bateman, on the other hand, is someone I appreciate, and he does a great job of knowing when to be humorous, ridiculous, anxious, or earnest. Considering that it deals with a scenario involving switched sperm donations, it’s surprisingly impactful. The theme of family coming back together works exceptionally well, even setting aside how strange the initial situation is.
