It made me question whether the movie received funding from New York tourism; the plot frequently paused so we could enjoy musical numbers and lengthy views of the city instead of developing any connection with the characters or understanding their relationship. Because of this, the quick romance felt hollow, and the numerous unlikely events had me anticipating a huge win. If they truly invested $9 million in this project, it clearly wasn't for the script, which is rather unremarkable. It’s not terrible – but I doubt I’ll remember it for long.
