This is another significant presentation centered around a disturbing true event. The Stanford Prison Experiment provides an engrossing experience whether you read about it or watch it; it's science taken to extremes and capable of being deeply unsettling. Was another film adaptation truly necessary, particularly given that *Das Experiment* (2001) exists and is the obvious choice for anyone wanting to explore this topic? However, this version directed by Kyle Patrick Alvarez also has its own merits, successfully getting to the heart of the matter while remaining detailed and realistic. This isn't just about recreating the look and feel of 1971; it’s evident in the characters as well—they are thoughtfully developed thanks to strong writing and acting. It wouldn’t be a good fit for people who already have a pessimistic view of humanity, or those simply seeking light entertainment. But worthwhile filmmaking is worth your time, and this offers an illuminating look at human nature. 7/10
