It’s hard to say exactly what Joanna Hogg intended with this project. The somber feeling that permeates the story lessened any sense of suspense because the ending seemed predetermined. While the acting was acceptable, it didn’t stand out; and Anthony's (played by Tom Burke) damaging treatment of Julie (Honor Swinton Byrne) wasn't explored to a sufficient degree. I will say, though, that the film is visually appealing.
