This is likely the best version of a Stephen King story that’s been made into a movie; I don’t care for most of them, to be honest, with only a couple standing out. It had been quite some time since I last saw this film—possibly around ten years—and while I certainly found it enjoyable and appreciated Nicholson's performance later in the story, his portrayal didn't entirely convince me at first. Nevertheless, the movie created an incredible atmosphere and was genuinely unsettling at times. However, I don’t consider it a true classic, regardless. **4.0/5**
