It felt similar to ‘What Dreams May Come,’ but lacked the visual grandeur. However, there was an unsettling quality to how things unfolded early on. The story didn't explore the crime in sufficient detail; that unexplained event holds a crucial piece of information that we don’t fully understand, preventing any real judgment about what transpired. That aspect brought ‘The Lovely Bones’ to mind. It centers around a father whose young daughter vanishes mysteriously during a camping trip. Afterward, as he struggles with this tragedy, he receives an invitation to meet the creators. His journey across the globe leads him through unexpected trials, and the film depicts how his character transforms throughout these experiences. The performances from Worthington and Spencer were all good. My issue lies with the story itself; it seemed geared toward a Christian audience specifically, but I doubt every Christian would find this narrative agreeable. I felt that making the movie was unnecessary. If it had been as lighthearted as ‘Bruce Almighty,’ a broader audience might have enjoyed it.
